We Produced a Mathematics Scholar and Winner in Lagos State and National Level: Demilade Oluwalade

We proudly announce that following the participation of a few of our students in the 2018 edition of the National Mathematics Competition (held across various states in Nigeria in December 2018), Demilade Oluwalade in our Grade 6, emerged 4th (with aggregate of 90.85%) among the ten winners from Lagos State. The competition was organised by the Nigerian-Turkish International School in collaboration with the National Mathematics Centre, Abuja. Despite the one-month notice received from the organisers, it gladdens our hearts that all our students did very well (out of over 6,500 candidates who participated in Lagos State). Following Demilade’s performance at the state level, he qualified and represented us at the national stage in April 2019.

At the final stage, the organisers decentralised the competition into two sub-zones at Lagos and Abuja centres. To the glory of God, we are excited that out of the 50 finalists that competed at the Lagos Centre, Demilade scored 93.41% and won a bronze medal, a tuition-free scholarship tenable at Nigerian-Turkish International School and cash prizes for himself and our Mathematics Teacher.
